Being human!!
Walking down to the metro station on this chilly winter morning. It was already quarter to nine and I was running 30 mins late to my work. It was a usual day. People were rushing to their offices. Auto and cycle rickshaw were making the road congested and also the roadside food stalls were making the place over crowded. I was brisk walking the path and soon as I reached those road side food stalls I saw a boy not more than 5 years old was begging for food to the people who were conveniently ignoring him and were having their breakfast. It was so cold and the boy was in the torn clothes, without slippers and hungry. I felt pity on the boy and more pity on the people who had the courage to act like blind and deaf in front of a little hungry boy who was not demanding money but just a plate of poori-aloo. I asked the Thela wala to give two plates to the poor boy and to my surprise the cost of one plate was only INR 10. I have no rights to judge anyone here neither I want to do it but the people who were convieniently ignoring the little hungry boy doesn't looks like they couldn't afford 10 INR. I pitied not the boy but the people who were so called humans by birth but definitely not by their actions. I didnt feel good or great on feeding that plate to the young boy rather I felt bad on thinking that he must have gone to bed empty stomach. I really wish if we can save humanity and do little on our part so that no child have to go bare foot in the harsh winters, everyone can have food at the end of the day. Being human isn't that costly affair or is it?
